Defense
The thermoformed parts provided to the Department of Defense are utilized both on the field and internally at manufacturing sites for handling delicate parts. In order to secure business in the Defense industry, we are required to be ITAR compliant.
Field Units
These products have to be carefully manufactured and robust enough to withstand exposure to various climate conditions throughout the world. Special materials and coatings are utilized for security reasons that help prevent detection out in the field. Special processes required for fabrication of these products are held to stringent requirements and Mil standards:
- MIL-STD 186F Military standard for protective finishes
- MIL-STD-130 For identification and marking
- Special process providers must be NADCAP certified
- All coatings are held to specific Mil Standards and some require testing by the military prior to use
- All raw materials, including coatings must be completely traceable
Handling Containers
The thermoformed containers are designed and fabricated to hold intricate parts throughout the production process in order to prevent any damaged during handling. These products are manufactured in various complex shapes. They are also made from durable materials such as polycarbonate and flame retardant ABS for integrity, and as a safety measure to prevent unintentional spread of fire. All of these products require full traceability from finished goods to the raw material.
